We supported the students in increasing and developing knowledge and skills in the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality sector. We provided coaching them around interviews, CV writing and gave them on job experience in different departments in the resort. This was the third year we have partnered with the BMet. These partnerships are so important for us as the students begin their careers in the best industry.

On the 5th of February, we hosted a visit from 14
enthusiastic students eager to explore the diverse career opportunities within
the resort. The day kicked off with a comprehensive tour of the resort,
showcasing the many roles available, from culinary arts to hospitality
management. Following the tour, the students enjoyed a leisurely lunch where
they had the opportunity to engage with the Belfry team, asking questions and
gaining insights into the industry. The afternoon was filled with fun
activities, with half the group enjoying a round of mini-golf while the others
participated in engaging team-building exercises. Excitingly, three of the
students have been selected to undertake a work placement at the hotel, each
focusing on a different department: Pasty Kitchen, Greenkeeping, and
Housekeeping. These placements will provide invaluable hands-on experience,
with the students spending one day a week for six weeks immersed in their
chosen fields.<o:p></o:p>

Each year since 2016, we have booked a Christmas Choir for a donation for Saint Nicholas Church in Curdworth.

We have attended a local college for
visually impaired and neurodiverse young adults to talk to them about the
different opportunities within the Belfry and hospitality with the aim to
provide work experience for those who are interested.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The hotel hosted the Springboard Midlands Hospitality
Takeover Day with numerous schools from across the Midlands, 120 students
taking part, learning from their amazing team on all aspects of hospitality
with insight in mocktail making, gala service, towel art, chef tasting session
and a tour of this stunning venue. This has been an incredibly valuable insight
in what the hospitality industry has to offer. <o:p></o:p><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p>



Springboard help disadvantaged and unemployed people all
ages, backgrounds and walks of life to fall in love with hospitality, leisure
and tourism, and gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to flourish
in a lifelong career within these amazing industries.<o:p></o:p>

On Friday 13th October, The Belfry's Greenkeeping team
participated in a charity football tournament for Cure Leukaemia.



20 teams from all over the country gathered at St George's
park and a managed to raise a staggering £20,000! Team Belfry FC managed to
finish 2nd in the tournament, earning the amazing title of Runner's Up. There
were even some famous faces that joined in the event, including Glenn Hoddle,
Lee Hendrie and more.<o:p></o:p>

days prior to World Mental Health Day, employees from the Belfry Hotel &amp; Resort together with other hospitality businesses from Birmingham walked 20km
around Birmingham. The walk took in green spaces such as the scenic Edgbaston
Reservoir, it covered parts of Digbeth, the city's creative quarter and it passed
through some of Birmingham's historic canal network.&nbsp;The <span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 17, 17); background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Walk for
Wellbeing is all about bringing people together to promote better mental health
and wellbeing across our industry, whilst supporting the vital work of
Hospitality Action at the same time.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

During the month of September, departments and employees got
together and held their own fundraising activities, including a bake sale and
selling Belfry made scratch cards. In total, Team Belfry has raised a
staggering £9,142.11 to support our 3 partner charities. This breaks down to £2.3k
from the team fundraising competitions and £6.8k from the Belfry Auction.<o:p></o:p>
