In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Belfry offered a special Pink Afternoon Tea, with £1 from each tea sold donated to the CoppaFeel! organisation. Thanks to the generous support of our guests, we raised a total of £427 to aid CoppaFeel! in their mission to promote early detection and awareness of breast cancer. This initiative allowed guests to enjoy a delightful experience while contributing to an important cause, demonstrating that even small acts can make a meaningful difference.

During October we attended a careers fair
hosted by our partner school Erdington Academy, we engaged with around 300
students and talked about the careers available to them at the Belfry and in
wider hospitality.&nbsp;&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Our team joined hundreds of people across the country in
a 20km walk around Birmingham to help raise vital funds for Hospitality Action,
helping promote better wellbeing &amp; mental health in our industry. In total
the team has raised £833.<o:p></o:p>

Five students from Queen Alexandra College, a national residential college and charity supporting young adults with a range of disabilities, recently visited the hotel for an insightful experience. They enjoyed a guided tour, where they learned about various roles within the hospitality industry. A highlight of their day was hearing from the Greenkeeper, who shared insights about the importance of maintaining the grounds. The visit concluded with a fun round of Minigolf, where the students showcased their skills and enthusiasm, making it a memorable and enriching day for all involved.

The Brabazon Bar team recently created and served a variety of delicious mocktails to all employees in the staff canteen, raising money for our three partner charities: MND, Teenage Cancer Trust, and Hospitality Action. Thanks to everyone's support, they successfully raised a total of £130 for these great causes.

In September,
the Belfry’s Leisure Club came together to support a worthy cause, raising £800
for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Members of the Leisure Club and Belfry staff took
part in a two-hour Spinning class, filled with energy and intensity.
Participants pedaled hard, pushing themselves throughout the session, driven by
a shared commitment to help young people battling cancer. Thanks to the
dedication and enthusiasm of our members and staff, we are proud to have made a
significant contribution to this important cause.<o:p></o:p>

We are
incredibly proud of our Meeting &amp; Events team, who took on the Tough Mudder
challenge to raise funds for one of our chosen charities, Teenage Cancer Trust.
Their teamwork, determination, and spirit helped them overcome the challenging
course, and together they raised an impressive £1,220 for this important cause.

The Finance and Spa teams joined forces to sell raffle tickets, offering exciting prizes for participants to win. Thanks to their efforts and the generosity of everyone involved, they successfully raised £126, which will be donated to our chosen charities: MND, Teenage Cancer Trust and Hospitality Action. These funds will help support the vital work each of these organisations does in making a difference in people's lives.

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Polesworth school and engage with hundreds of enthusiastic students about careers in hospitality. The students were eager to learn about the diverse roles within the industry, from culinary arts to hotel management, and we were excited to share our experiences and insights.&nbsp; This event underscored our commitment to inspiring and educating the next generation about the rewarding opportunities within this sector.

Throughout June we hosted an online charity auction giving
our members and staff the chance to bid on once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and
prizes. We are delighted to share that we raised £5,830 which will be split
between our three partner charities - Motor Neurone Disease, Teenage Cancer
Trust and Hospitality Action!

At The Belfry Hotel, we offer a comprehensive work experience program designed for pupils from local schools to gain valuable insights into the hospitality industry. This program, lasting between one and two weeks, provides students with hands-on experience across various departments, helping them to develop essential skills and a deeper understanding of hotel operations. Through this initiative, we aim to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals and support our local community.

The Resort Desk team recently organised a bingo card sale to support our 3 chosen charities: Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Hospitality Action, and the Teenage Cancer Trust. Their dedicated efforts were met with great success, raising an impressive total of £475 for these vital organisations.

We had the privilege of attending a reverse job fair focused
on empowering young individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. Eight
remarkable young people, nearing the completion of a year-long supported
internship program, showcased their diverse skills and experiences to potential
employers. From catering to care, admin/IT to housekeeping, and hospitality,
these individuals had completed placements across various settings. Our role
was simple yet crucial: to engage with these young people, encouraging their
confidence in networking and conversing with prospective employers. It was an
inspiring event, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and providing equal
opportunities for all.<o:p></o:p>

We recently attended the jobs fair in Atherstone, organized by the local MP Craig Tracey in partnership with the JobCentre and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This free event was open to anyone seeking a new career opportunity. As representatives of our hotel, we were excited to connect with job seekers and showcase the diverse range of employment opportunities available within our industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the local community and contribute to the ongoing effort of matching individuals with fulfilling career paths.

We were delighted to offer work experience opportunities to three students from Queen Alexandra College, a national residential college and charity supporting a diverse range of student abilities and needs, particularly for young adults with disabilities. These students had the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience in different departments of our hotel. One student worked alongside our Housekeeping team, another assisted in our Greenkeeping efforts, and the third enhanced their skills in our Pastry Kitchen. It was a rewarding experience for both the students and our staff, promoting inclusivity and providing valuable learning opportunities.

Our dedicated Resort Director, Chris Eigelaar, recently joined forces with the team from Cedar to participate in the Leeds Marathon, raising awareness and vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Together, their efforts raised an impressive £3,500, which will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by this debilitating condition. This inspiring initiative reflects our shared belief that every small act of kindness can contribute to a larger impact. Through teamwork and determination, Chris and Cedar's commitment brings hope to individuals and families facing the challenges of MND, reminding us all of the power of unity and compassion.

We were excited to partner with the PGA to host a successful
Careers in Golf day at our iconic resort in May. Welcoming 80 students from
four different schools, the event provided an invaluable opportunity for them
to gain insight into the multitude of exciting careers available within the
Golfing and Greenkeeping industries. From professional golfing to the
meticulous craft of Greenkeeping, students had the chance to explore various
career paths firsthand and engage with industry professionals. It was an inspiring
day that highlighted the diverse opportunities within our beloved sport and
showcased our commitment to encourage the next generation of talent in Golf and
Greenkeeping.<o:p></o:p>

We were delighted to welcome students from BMet Sports and
Leisure to explore our resort and gain insights into the diverse roles within
the hotel industry. During their visit, students had the opportunity to take a tour
of our facilities, interact with our team members, and learn firsthand about
the various careers available in hospitality. It was a valuable experience
aimed at inspiring and informing the next generation of hospitality
professionals, and we were happy to share our knowledge and passion for the
industry with them.<o:p></o:p>

Our restaurant team recently organised a fundraiser in support of our three chosen charities: MND, Hospitality Action and Teenage Cancer Trust. Guests and employees were invited to participate in a fun guessing game: estimating the number of sweets in a jar for the chance to win fantastic prizes, including a dinner experience at our restaurant. Each guess came at a nominal fee of £1. Thanks to the incredible generosity, we raised a total of £140. This event not only brought joy and excitement but also made a meaningful impact in our efforts to support these worthy causes.

who ran the London Marathon in April. Her inspiring journey wasn't just about

her dedication and determination, she raised an incredible £2427. Sarah's
amazing achievement represents the spirit of giving and compassion that defines

As part of the Belfry’s Charity Fundraising, the Sales team were on The Brabazon golf course hosting a 10th Hole Challenge. Guests and team members were challenged to have a go for the chance to win fantastic prizes and help the Sales team raise money for our nominated charities Teenage Cancer Trust, Hospitality Action and MND. On the day an incredible £1000 were raised.

Our recent visit to UCB for their Careers Fair was a dynamic
opportunity to showcase the array of roles available at our hotel and highlight
the exciting career paths within the hospitality industry. With UCB offering
courses ranging from Spa and Events to Culinary, we engaged with final-year
students, discussing how their skills and passions could succeed in our resort.
By presenting our hotel as a prospective employer, we aimed to inspire the next
generation of hospitality professionals and establish meaningful connections

We recently visited Wilnecote Highschool for a Careers Fair, where we represented our hotel and talked to many students about careers in hospitality. Our goal was simple: promote the diverse opportunities available in the industry. From chatting about guest services to discussing culinary arts, we aimed to inspire students to consider a future in hospitality. It was a great chance to engage with the next generation and showcase the exciting paths awaiting them in this dynamic field.

The Golf team organised different challenges amongst our golf guests to help raise money for our nominated charities Teenage Cancer Trust, Hospitality Action and MND. An incredible £480 were raised.

Our recent visit to Plantsbrook School for their Careers Fair was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the exciting possibilities within the hospitality industry. As representatives of our hotel, we engaged with numerous students, sharing insights and experiences about careers in hospitality. On the 5th of February, we hosted a visit from 14
enthusiastic students eager to explore the diverse career opportunities within
the resort. The day kicked off with a comprehensive tour of the resort,
showcasing the many roles available, from culinary arts to hospitality
management. Following the tour, the students enjoyed a leisurely lunch where
they had the opportunity to engage with the Belfry team, asking questions and
gaining insights into the industry. The afternoon was filled with fun
activities, with half the group enjoying a round of mini-golf while the others
participated in engaging team-building exercises. Excitingly, three of the
students have been selected to undertake a work placement at the hotel, each
focusing on a different department: Pasty Kitchen, Greenkeeping, and
Housekeeping. These placements will provide invaluable hands-on experience,
with the students spending one day a week for six weeks immersed in their
chosen fields.<o:p></o:p>

Each year since 2016, we have booked a Christmas Choir for a donation for Saint Nicholas Church in Curdworth.

We have attended a local college for
visually impaired and neurodiverse young adults to talk to them about the
different opportunities within the Belfry and hospitality with the aim to
provide work experience for those who are interested.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The hotel hosted the Springboard Midlands Hospitality
Takeover Day with numerous schools from across the Midlands, 120 students
taking part, learning from their amazing team on all aspects of hospitality
with insight in mocktail making, gala service, towel art, chef tasting session
and a tour of this stunning venue. This has been an incredibly valuable insight

On Friday 13th October, The Belfry's Greenkeeping team
participated in a charity football tournament for Cure Leukaemia.



20 teams from all over the country gathered at St George's
park and a managed to raise a staggering £20,000! Team Belfry FC managed to
finish 2nd in the tournament, earning the amazing title of Runner's Up. There
were even some famous faces that joined in the event, including Glenn Hoddle,
Lee Hendrie and more.<o:p></o:p>

days prior to World Mental Health Day, employees from the Belfry Hotel &amp; Resort together with other hospitality businesses from Birmingham walked 20km
around Birmingham. The walk took in green spaces such as the scenic Edgbaston
Reservoir, it covered parts of Digbeth, the city's creative quarter and it passed
through some of Birmingham's historic canal network.&nbsp;The <span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 17, 17); background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;">Walk for
Wellbeing is all about bringing people together to promote better mental health
and wellbeing across our industry, whilst supporting the vital work of
Hospitality Action at the same time.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

During the month of September, departments and employees got
together and held their own fundraising activities, including a bake sale and
selling Belfry made scratch cards. In total, Team Belfry has raised a
staggering £9,142.11 to support our 3 partner charities. This breaks down to £2.3k
from the team fundraising competitions and £6.8k from the Belfry Auction.<o:p></o:p>

Together with some of our Managers, Kirsten Price, Head of People &amp; Culture hosted a virtual tour of our hotel with over 20 Springboard students who are embarking on their careers in hospitality. Kirsten and her team took out time to inspire and support the students with this opportunity to give an in-depth insight to the fantastic hospitality industry.

From the 9th till 19th June 2023 the Belfry has taken part in
Hospitality Action Summer Challenge to help raise funds for our partner
charity, who do incredible work to support our industry. Our team have been running, walking, cycling and swimming
to clock up the miles, to achieve a total of 1,734 miles, finishing 3rd in the
UK. We have raised an incredible £2,125 for Hospitality
Action, all whilst celebrating the joys that hospitality brings to our lives!&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Our Senior Head Chef and Head Chef delivered a cooking
Masterclass to the students at Nottingham College. They cooked three courses
from our two-Rosette Belfry restaurant and spoke to the students about their
experiences and career progression.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

The Belfry hosted an event for Vinci to help raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, one of our 2023 charities.&nbsp;

On Saturday 25th March, Maia had the privilege of attending the Teenage Cancer Trust fundraising event at the Royal Albert Hall. She got to see Kasabian play, but the absolute highlight was learning about the amazing work that the Teenage Cancer Trust do, and getting to hear from the people they have helped first-hand. Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. They fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.What a fantastic cause, and we are so proud that The Belfry Hotel &amp; Resort will be supporting the charity in 2023.<o:p></o:p>

On the
24th April 2023, along&nbsp;with another 55 hospitality professionals, Robert
Bates, Head Chef and Wesley Myles, M&amp;E Manager went on a 14 mile hike over
5 summits in Snowdonia, finishing up with Snowdon. Robert and Wesley helped to&nbsp;raise much needed funds to support The Burnt
Chef Project tackle alarming rates of mental illness in the global hospitality
community.<o:p></o:p>

Cleo Ottley, Head of CDP, ran the London Marathon in 3 hours, 37 minutes and 31 seconds&nbsp;to help raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer Research.&nbsp;

We hosted a two-week work placement scheme for eight
2nd Year Level 3 Travel and Tourism students from the BMet College. We
supported the students in increasing and developing knowledge and skills in the
Travel, Tourism and Hospitality sector. We provided coaching tthem around
interviews, CV writing and gave them on job experience in different departments
in the resort.&nbsp;&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Belfry SWAP is for F&amp;B entry level roles, we did it in
partnership with the DWP and Pet-xi who are a training and apprenticeship
provider. They enroll young people who are not currently working but interested
in a career in hospitality, and deliver a week’s worth of training in the
basics of hospitality (which we have been able to help shape). We provided a
meeting room to them for this, before providing a week’s worth of on-site, on
the job training, with a guaranteed interview at the end. The idea behind it
was to help people in their early careers get their first roles in the
industry, and we made several successful hires through the programme.<o:p></o:p>

The Belfry provided a raffle prize for an overnight stay to support a local schools fundraising efforts for The Brain Tumour Charity.

The Belfry attended the Birmingham Care Leaver’s Conference,
a conference designed to introduce care leavers to employers and support to
help them in their early careers. The Belfry was able to give a talk to the
attendees, and offered roles including apprenticeships.<o:p></o:p>
